Congratulations to the high school field hockey players, Ronni Pirano, Iza Lederer, Josie Blake, Grace Elliott, Ashleigh Abernathy, Hope Baecklandt, Erica Pankow, Annabelle Haberkorn, Sami Schmitt and middle school athletes, Kailey Lambert, Sophia Moltzen, and Annie Ozias, who have all been selected to the USA Field Hockey Olympic Development Program called Futures.
Entrance into the program is through a tryout and is the first stop in the Olympic pipeline! The program involves twenty-one hours of elite training with top coaches at the state level to develop advanced skills. The regional program concludes in a tournament with players from Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Last spring, Jenny Booth, Raegan Palkowski, and Erica Pankow traveled to Louisville to participate in the regional tournament. This spring, the tournament will take place at the University of Michigan at Ocker Field on May 19th-20th! Players that participate in the regional tournament can be selected to compete at the National Level. Good luck girls!
