The Varsity hockey team competed in the Michigan Public High School Hockey Showcase this weekend at the Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea and came out with a pair of wins.
They got things started on Friday morning with a 2-1 victory over Lowell Caledonia. Max Lederer had a great game in goal and had offensive help with goals by Neil Adams (Assist to Tyler Horvath and Nick Walling) and Sebastian Smith (Assist to Jacob Meade and Michael Whitus).
They continued the momentum on Sunday morning and played another tough game against Romeo. After scores from Whitus (Assist to Meade), 2 goals from Smith (Assist to Bennett Sheppard and Meade), and Austin Selmi (Assist to Smith) the teams were tied at 4 after regulation. The game came down to a shoot out. Goalie, Max Lederer stopped all 3 attempts on goal and it was time for the Pirate offense to take over which is what Sebastian Smith did, scoring his 3rd goal for a hat trick on the day.
Congratulations Pirates on a great hockey weekend!
