Girls Varsity Field Hockey · Pirate Field Stands Strong Against Clarkston

The varsity field hockey team hosted Clarkston on Wednesday night at Pirate Stadium where they came out victorious by a score of 2-1.  Coach Wink said, “A high level of teamwork and good sportsmanship resulted in a win!”

Senior, Danielle Hunter  had her third shut out in goal with aid from the strong defense. Grace Elliott and Ashlyn Norris had incedible defensive saves and Sami Schmitt played strong in the backfield as well.

On the offensive side, Ronni Piraino and Annabelle Haberkorn worked to keep the ball from the opponent which led to a shot on goal from Izzy Lederer and a quick rebound and score from Ashleigh Abernethy.  Kailey Lambert scored a second goal with an assist from Annabelle Haberkorn.

The Pirates travel to Pioneer on Monday afternoon for an SEC matchup.  Keep up the team effort Pirates!
