Boys Varsity Soccer · Soccer Is Ready to Make Post Season Run

Lead by a strong Senior class, the boys soccer team are 5-1-1 in the last seven games and are ready to make a postseason run this week as the MHSAA District tournament begins. 

Here is the summary of the last seven games.

Tuesday 9-17-19

Pinckney at Chelsea

The Pirates  had a tough loss against the Bulldogs.   4-1. Pinckney’s lone goal was scored by Nic Brousseau and was assisted by Joe Czerwinski.

Thursday 9-19-19

Pinckney vs Lincoln

Pinckney soundly defeated Lincoln by a score of 6-1. Nic Brousseau had 4 goals and freshmen Chris Newman added two.

Saturday 9-21-19

Pinckney vs Howell

The Pirates came back after being down 3-1 to Highlanders at half time to tie the game 3-3. Nic Brousseau had two goals, one assisted by Caleb Jerema and the other assisted by Alex Mayer. Pinckney’s other goal was scored by Chris Newman, assisted by Nic Brousseau.

Tuesday 9-24-19 – Senior Night

Pinckney vs. Ypsilanti 

The Pirates defeated the Grizzlies by a score of 5-1. Nic Brousseau had two goals. Max Gonos, Caleb Jarema, and Jaden Lavey all added one goal.

Thursday 9-26-19

Pinckney at Jackson

The Pirates had a tough divisional game against the Vikings but came out on top with a score of 4-2.  Nic Brousseau, Alex Meyer, Chris Newman, and Gar Eddings all scored goals.  Ben Wilmanoicz had a great game in goal. 

Tuesday 10-1-19

Pinckney vs. Ypsilanti

In the first round of the SEC tournament, the Pirates defeated the Grizzlies by a score of 5-1. Nic Brousseau had a whopping 4 goals and Max Gonos had the other off of a free kick.

Thursday 10-3-19

Pinckney vs Adrian

In the final round of the SEC Tournament, the Pirates topped the Maples by a score of 6-3. Nic Brousseau and Gar Eddings both had 2 goals and 1 assist.  John Grossmeyer and Max Gonos also added goals.
