Multiple Teams · Volleyball Hosting Pink Out Game


The volleyball teams are putting up numbers and is looking forward to hosting Dexter tonight for the annual “Pink Out” game to support Breast Cancer Research.  Freshman and JV take the court at 5:30, followed by Varsity at 7:00pm.

 Varsity Season recap:

The Pirates have had a fantastic volleyball season this year and are tied for 2nd in the SEC White.  This team is fun to watch!

The Pirates have an overall win ratio of .667 (20-10-3) this season and sit high in the win rankings at #38 overall in the state. Dexter sits just 10 spots up at number 28 and is undefeated on the season.  The Pirates are hungry to stop them in their tracks after narrowly missing a win at the Jamboree early in the season.  They were the only Jamboree team to take Dexter to 3 matches that day.

Offensive statistical leaders include senior Kylie Ray with 153 kills, junior Emme Carruthers at 111 kills, and Junior Nicole Darin is sitting at 92.  Senior Setter Taylor Kennard leads the conference with 276 assists this season averaging 3.7 assists per set, Junior Sydney Sweeney is right behind her at position 4 and 154 assists.  Serving aces leader and top in the conference is junior Sophia Oakes with 54 aces this season.

On the defensive side of things seniors Abby Mondro and Madeline Curtis are protecting fiercely at the net at number 2 and 3 in the conference with 38 and 30 blocks respectively. Kylie and Nicole are right behind them with 23 and 22 blocks as well.  The Pirates dig leader, also top in the conference and sitting at #2 in the state is Sophia Oakes with 426 digs this season.  Oakes just cracked the 1600 career dig mark last week and she’s closing in rapidly on a noteworthy 2000 digs and a school record.
