Pirates News · Athletic Update

Good afternoon Student Athletes, Parents, and Coaches,

I am sure you have been receiving an overwhelming amount of information regarding the COVID-19 virus.  However, I wanted to reach out to inform all stakeholders involved about our Pirate Athletics plan.  Please keep in mind that the situation is extremely fluid and ever changing and so our plan needs to remain fluid as well.
In addition to the limitations already outlined by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Superintendent of Pinckney Schools, Rick Todd, and the MHSAA; the following will specifically address Pirate Athletics:
-Spring practices for High School and Middle School sports are suspended until April 6th.  This includes, indoor practices, outdoor practices, optional, 4-man, etc.
-All Spring Competitions up until April 6th are cancelled.
-The SEC Athletic Directors are creating a modified Spring Competition Schedule to begin shortly after we return to school on April 6th.
With the 25 day suspension of all planned athletics activities, please find time in your day to continue to exercise and work on skills to the best of your ability.  If and when we return to play, the season will be extremely condensed and limited so lets be ready to hit the ground ready to compete.
The benefits of athletics are too numerous to list, however amongst the most important is the ability that athletes have to deal with adversity and adapt, to overcome and succeed.  Pirate athletes will take this extremely challenging time in stride and be ready to compete given the opportunity.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Go Pirates!
