Pinckney Senior, Olivia Short, is being awarded the Hungry Howie’s Pay to Participate Scholarship for the Fall Athletic Season from our local Hungry Howie’s Pizzaria in Lakeland.
Olivia is a four year varsity member of the Pinckney High School Pom and Dance Team. She leads as a captain and as an accomplished dancer. Varsity Head Coach Angela Kanerva had the following to say regarding her senior leader, “Olivia brings creativity and inspiration to the dance team by working tirelessly on new and innovative routines. Over the years, she has brought laughter and humor to the team environment alongside the desire for committed hard work. Olivia is a stunning dancer in national competitions, is classically trained and has a heart of humility. She wants the team to succeed not just herself. We are thrilled that she was chosen for the Hungry Howie’s Scholarship this fall.”
Pom and dance are the most important activities to Olivia as they have been a part of her life for so many years which has allowed her passion for the sport to grow. She loves that it keeps her involved in school functions and the community. She loves to share her love for the sport with youth dancers as well. You can often catch her coaching PYA Pom teams or dance classes at Voila Dance Studio.
Congratulations Olivia Short!
