The Pirates snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over the Adrian Maples on Wednesday.
The game was tied at four with Pinckney batting in the top of the fifth when Bryce White singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
The Pirates captured the lead in the second inning. Ben Putnam grounded out, scoring two runs.
Pinckney notched four runs in the second inning. The rally was led by singles by Dakota Avedisian and Nick Cortez and a groundout by Putnam.
Jack Trachet pitched Pinckney to victory. He went four innings, allowing four runs (3 earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking one. Ty Abner and Patrick Abowd entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Pirates racked up nine hits in the game. Cortez and White both managed multiple hits for Pinckney. White and Cortez each collected two hits and an RBI to lead the Pirates.
