Pinckney took both games of the double header against Stockbridge on a beautiful day at Lake Trust Credit Union Field at Cleary University.
Pinckney pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Dalton Knightley singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Eli Thompson singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
The Pirates notched five runs in the fifth inning. Pinckney’s big inning was driven by doubles by Tyler Horvath and Bryce White, a walk by Ty Abner, and a single by Miles Teachworth.
Charlie Chambers earned the win for the Pirates. He lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out five and walking zero.
Pinckney had 16 hits in the game. Al Thorington, Dakota Avedisian, Horvath, Knightley, Teachworth, and Thompson all collected multiple hits for the Pirates. Thorington went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Pirates in hits.
Patrick Abowd and Ty Abner locked down the left side of the infield for the Pirates in game two with Abowd driving a base hit into the gap and Abner collecting an RBI in the bottom of the fifth inning.
