It came down to the last play in game two, but Pinckney was on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to the Dexter Dreadnaughts on Monday. The game was tied at eight with Dexter batting in the bottom of the eighth when Feeman drew a walk, scoring one run.
Nick Cortez collected four hits in defeat.
Dexter took an early lead in the first inning. Devoogd singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
The Pirates notched four runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by Pinckney was led by Jack Trachet, Cortez, and Al Thorington, who all drove in runs.
Kreske was on the mound for the Dreadnaughts. He lasted five innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out four.
Ty Abner and Patrick Abowd entered the game from the bullpen, throwing four innings and three innings respectively.
Pinckney totaled 11 hits in the game. Cortez and Thorington each managed multiple hits for the Pirates. Cortez led Pinckney with four hits in five at bats. Trachet was 1 for 3 with 2 walks and 2 runs. Tyler Horvath was 1 for 3 with 2 runs.
